William Joseph McClain (Bill) Born, Dec 31, 1928 in Optimus, Arkansas to Ennis Twitchel McClain and Bernice Pearl (Mayfield) McClain, died Jan 31, 2010 in Alexandria, Virginia. Bill and his wife, Celia (Barrancos) resided in Fairfax, Virginia for over 30 years. Bill enlisted in the United States Regular Army and the free volunteers of the US Army where he served honorably for 21 years. He retired with the rank of Sergeant First Class (SFC). His service years encompassed theaters of war in World War II, Korea and Viet Nam, and he was awarded the Purple Heart on two occasions. Bill loved his country, family, hunting with his brothers and cousins, computer repair and the amater radio organizations; KC41GS was his call sign. That call sign is quiet now. Bill is survived by his wife, Celia; two sisters and two brothers, Nancy Mae Utt of Bloomsburg, PA Mirian (Nadine) Anderson of Fayetteville, GA James Garfield of Mountain Home, Ark and Ernest Roe of Tampa, Fl., daughter, Patricia Nell, son, Mark Andrew, many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Bill was preceded in death by his brother, Charles Edward, father, Ennis Twitchel, brother Ennis Hayden (John), brothers-in-law Merrin (Andy) Anderson and David E. Utt, mother Bernice Pearl, and brother George Glenn.
